Co-Founder Tammy Shroyer has a BS in Parks, Recreation and Tourism and a MA in Teaching. She is an ISA Certified Arborist  (RM-8752A) and Part 107 Drone Pilot. As a wildland firefighter, Tammy serves as a public information officer and maintains PIO1/PIOC qualifications with NWCG and is also All Hazards PIO3 qualified. 

Tammy’s wildfire career started in 1999. The wife of a forester/wildland firefighter, she quickly realized fire was a lifestyle, not a job. Firefighter’s pages don’t just come from 8-5, but rather at 11:00 pm, on Easter morning, or during your child’s birthday party. For years, Tammy volunteered as a firefighter, dispatcher, logistics, equipment relocator, and Red Cross coordinator. Her volunteer time prepared her for the task of Public Information Officer. Tammy has used her skills on numerous large scale fires and other hazards in multiple states around the west.  Her career as a teacher drove her understanding for the need for public disaster and fire education.  She is a Liaison Officer trainee and a Prevention/Education Team Member (PETM) trainee as well. 

In addition to her fire background, Tammy stays engaged with the community by sitting on the Riverton, WY Tree Board where she helps promote healthy trees in the community and supports student participation in the yearly Arbor Day poster contest. She is also a member of the Wyoming Prescribed Fire Council and is part of its Outreach and Education Sub-committee. Tammy continues to teach 5th grade, where she has a passion for providing students entitled to IEPs high levels of education through a co-teaching environment.
